Virginia Highway Safety Corridors

The Highway Safety Corridor Program addresses safety issues on interstates and primary roads that are identified as high crash locations. The program is an interagency effort involving the Virginia State Police, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), and the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles. The 2003 General Assembly directed these three agencies to establish this program in an effort to increase safety on these heavily traveled and challenging roadways.
