  • Woman Charged with Hit and Run after Finding Body Under Car
    Feb 24, 2010

A 40 year-old Woodbridge woman was charged with (felony) hit and run today in connection with a tragic accident that happened on Centreville Road on Monday.

A 39 year-old homeless man was trying to cross the busy street when a car struck him.  That car stopped, but allegedly another car (driven by the defendant) then ran over the man, who was stuck under her car.  When she finally stopped over a mile later, she reportedly noticed the body and called police, saying she "thought she had run over a 'mannequin' of some sort and continued driving."

    • Police Kill 7 Year-Old Girl in Raid
      May 18, 2010

Detroit police raided the two-family home of a 34 year-old murder suspect, during which they shot and killed a sleeping 7 year-old girl.

The young girl's family has hired high-profile attorney Geoffrey Fieger, who said video footage of the raid contradicts the account given by the police of the shooting.  The police claim they threw a flash grenade through a window, after which an officer had some kind of altercation with the girl's grandmother, causing his weapon to discharge.  Fieger said that is simply not true, that video footage of the raid shows the officer firing into the home immediately after throwing the grenade.

Television network A&E shot the video footage as part of a reality TV project they plan to air.

      Mar 15, 2010

This Washington Post reports that the so-called East Coast Rapist has returned to Northern Virginia, his most recent attack being on Halloween Night.  The article provides a description of the suspect, and notes that police know a lot about him -- they even have his DNA -- but he has eluded police for over 13 years.  Police believed he started raping women in Prince George's County, then in Virginia, and then in New England.  They believe he returned to Northern Virginia, and is responsible for the Dale City rapes on Halloween Night.
