16 Year-Old Boy Fell Off Roof after Police Tasered Him

A 16 year-old boy is hospitalized with serious neck and back injuries sustained from a fall off his roof when police tasered him. The police arrived in the Baltimore neighborhood yesterday morning to investigate a problem with the boy's monitoring device (he was on home detention for a hand gun violation). The boy's parents let the police in, and the boy tried to flee by climibing out a 2nd-story window and "onto the roof ledge below."
A Baltimore City Police spokesman said the boy "engaged [the] police officers" who felt it necessary to use the taser. A neighbor who saw the incident believe the police could have handled the situation differently.
