Actress Facing Charges in Fatal DWI Accident

Posted on Jul 01, 2010

Amy Locane-Bovenizer, a former Melrose Place actress, was charged with vehicular homicide, as well as 2nd and 3rd degree assault by auto, as a result of a fatal accident Sunday night in New Jersey.  The actress allegedly rear-ended a vehicle at an intersection and drove off,  knocking over mailboxes before crashing into another vehicle as it was turning into a driveway.  The 60 year-old female passenger of that car was killed instantly, and the driver, her husband, also 60, was seriously injured and taken from the scene by helicopter.

Locane-Bovenizer reportedly admitted to police at the scene that she had had "several glasses of wine" before driving.

She faces five to 10 years in state prison.
