Are Marijuana Drug Checkpoints Illegal in Virginia, Fairfax County?

This article about Drug Checkpoints in Flint, Michigan highlights the questionable legality of stopping innocent citizens without suspicion of any criminal activity.   

Routine checkpoints like this were outlawed in 2000 by the United States Supreme Court in the case of City of Indianapolis v. Edmond.   The Court in Edmond focused on the lack of individualized suspicion and the fact that the High Court had never approved of checkpoints for general criminal activity.

However, the Edmonds case has been narrowed on a few occasions, and cops are allowed to set up checkpoints if they can meet certain standards.
