Coming Soon-- Drunk-Proof Cars??

Since graduating from George Mason University School of Law in 1988, I have had over 20 years of trial experience, defending citizens accused of a wide variety of misdemeanor and felony offenses in Northern Virginia.   Since 1999, my practice has been almost exclusively focused on the Fairfax County Courts, allowing me to gain an increasing familiarity with the Courts, Prosecutors and Judges here in Fairfax County, Virginia.

Big Brother Will Save Us:   We Can Soon Expect that the Government and MADD Mothers will work together to push Mandatory Passive Alcohol Sensors in our New Cars.

To date, discussion in the mainstream media sees this as an optional safety device.    Sure, parents would love to have this option on our teenagers' cars.    Meanwhile, behind the scenes, the prohibitionists are pushing for the day when they can require this on all cars.    This is clearly in line with their goal of "eliminating drinking and driving".

As DWI Defense Attorneys, we don't claim that there is a right to drink and drive, but the law on the subject is that you can't drive drunk-- not that you can't drive after having any alcohol at all.    These passive sensors are going to have folks prevented from driving in all kinds of borderline situations, including passengers, mouthwash,  Purell hand-cleaner, and more.
