Drunken Driving: 3 Levels in Michigan

Michigan has added a third level of drunken driving to its laws that will take effect at the end of the month: Operating with a High Bodily Alcohol Content. This level applies to drunk drivers with a BAC of .17 or higher (.17 is twice the legal limit).
The lowest level of drunk driving offenses is Operating While Visibly Impaired. The second is Operating While Intoxicated, which is driving with a BAC of .08 or higher.
