Gay Marriages Recognized in Maryland

Maryland's Attorney General announced today that the State will, effectively immediately, recognize gay marriages that were performed in other states, and that married gay couples are entitled to the same rights and benefits as heterosexual married couples.

Maryland does not yet issue marriage licenses for same-sex unions, but will start this spring, joining  a handful of other states.
