A 49 year-old California man was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter for killing a man attempting to steal marijuana from his backyard garden. The defendant, who is legally allowed to grow medical marijuana, admitted he fired at a group who broke into his pot garden, claiming he was defending himself against the armed intruders. The jury, however, decided the shooting was unjustified, and convicted him. His sentencing is scheduled for February.
