Maryland Wrongful Death Taser Trial Begins
Posted on Jan 18, 2012
The family of a 20 year-old Maryland man sued the police officer who they say killed their son after shooting him twice with a Taser. The incident occurred in 2007 when neighbors called police to report a fight. What happened next is in dispute. The officer who responded to the call claims he fired the Taser when the man refused his order to show his hands. The family claims the young man was on the ground unconscious when the officer shot the Taser a second time. They are asking for $145 million.
