Prisoner's 911 Call Helps Police Catch Escaped Inmates
Posted on Sep 27, 2013
A prisoner in Oklahoma did the right thing Tuesday. He, along with several other prisoners, were left unattended in a prison transport van while the transport guards took some ill prisoners into a hospital. The guards left the van running to keep the air conditioner on. Two inmates kicked through a partition and drove the van a couple of miles before abandoning it, and the 6 other inmates inside the van. One of the men left in the vehicle was apparently able to locate a cell phone in the van (presumably a guard's) and called 911. His phone call allowed the police to locate the van, and the escaped inmates, quickly. No word on whether those transport guards are still employed!
