Texting While Driving Now a Primary Offense in Virginia

Texting while driving became a primary offense on July 1, 2013.  That means an officer may pull you over if he sees you texting while driving.  It used to be a secondary offense, which meant an officer couldn't charge you for texting while driving unless he had pulled you over for a primary offense, such as running a red light.
