  Description:
  Virginia has a relatively new "move over" law, requiring motorists to change lanes or slow down (if they cannot change lanes) when an emergency vehicle is stopped along a road.  Violations can be punishable by large fines and/or jail time.

  Description:
  Virginia has a "move over" law, which requires motorists to change lanes or slow down considerably for emergency vehicles on the side of the road.  This video is a news report from February, when Virginia had record snowfalls, reminding drivers of the law.  Five troopers were hit by vehicles while they were stopped along the road helping motorists.
